THE ATHLETE · REPRESENTING ISRAEL

Built in America.
Connected to Israel.
Competing internationally.

Benjamin Gurewich was born in New York, spent his early childhood in Israel, and grew up in Parkland, Florida. A dual U.S.–Israeli citizen, he represents Israel in FIE international competition. The spelling is Gurewich in the United States and Gurevich in Israeli and FIE records.

He began fencing in June 2017 at age six. More than nine years later, the sport has become a daily system of technical work, athletic preparation, competition, review and recovery.

Benjamin now competes in Cadet and Junior men’s sabre, trains in Florida and New York, and carries ISR beside his name on the world stage.

THE EARLY YEARS

Never the biggest.
Never intimidated.

Benjamin was often one of the smallest fencers in the lineup—but he never carried himself that way on the strip. Taller opponents, stronger competitors and difficult bouts were never reasons to step back.

THE LONG-TERM HORIZON

Road to
LA 2028

Los Angeles 2028 is the long-term athletic target. It is a goal—not a claim of qualification. Reaching that level depends on the daily work now: international experience, stronger decision-making under pressure, consistent development and the ability to keep learning through every stage of the season.
